Adopters

Hey guys, Britney here. Let’s chat about making things work and using your resources by communicating with us.

Jenni has saved and rehabbed over 1,000 huskies. That comes with knowledge and experience. I’ve now fostered over a hundred huskies for H3, and the knowledge I’ve gained from volunteering and working for Jenni is transformative, especially the hands-on learning with the dogs.

We tell this to every one of our families. We are here for LIFE, we are here for the good, the bad, and the ugly. We are your support when you’re having issues: behavioral, medical, anything and everything. WE ARE HERE!!!

Lobo is back today. It has broken my heart to know that the last time we had a check-in with his family, in December, he was doing great and we got cute pictures of him with his sister. Then yesterday, his family said they could no longer keep him due to all of his behavioral issues and that he's an escape artist, that he's currently in the shelter and they need us to come get him. PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR IT TO GET THIS BAD 😭💔

Please do not wait for you to get to the point of telling us our dog is BACK in a shelter and we need to come get to him. We could have helped, we could have given you all the resource you needed to make this work or determine together this truly isn’t going to work and let’s work on getting him back to us and maybe doing a swap with someone that would better fit your home and lifestyle.

I don’t want just the cute updates and the cute pictures. I love those, but if you’re having issues I want to know about it. You’re not alone, and you shouldn’t feel alone. You have us to share the hard times with us. We don’t know until you tell us. We want you and our dog to be successful and we can help you with that. We are your knowledge and resources.

Please don’t wait, please don’t feel that it is a burden for you to reach out, and please don’t blindside us when you’ve had enough and are exhausted. Be the change, ask for help. I know that can be hard sometimes, but that is what we are here for. Reach out to us for help before it gets too bad.

Thank you for reading, and if you're an adopter struggling, reach out. That original text thread we started or group chat is always open.

This totally breaks my heart. So Lobo got brought to a local shelter, then you were contacted? Then you had to drive to the local shelter to pick up Lobo? How far did you have to drive? How long was Lobo there? It makes no sense to me. Why didn't they contact you immediately since H3 makes it very clear to everyone that H3 is there for you & the huskies FOR LIFE. Totally heartbreaking for Lobo. He must be so confused getting dumped at a shelter. DARN. This upsets me. I understand that things might now work out, but PLEASE don't just drop off your husky at the shelter. Contact H3 to help. They will ALWAYS be there for…

Oh nooo, poor baby Lobo, his family should have contacted H3 before he got back in a shelter....very sad and disappointing. 💔💔💔💔
