Kelsey

Kelsey has been with us for 435 days, and she's ready to find her forever family. This 2-year, 5-month-old girl came to us from Stockton, California, just before the holidays in 2023. At that time, she was barely over a year old—a baby on the kill list. Returned by her foster family and defensive toward shelter staff, Kelsey had a rough start. Things took a scary turn when she began vomiting up pieces of bright plastic, but thankfully, she recovered quickly. It wasn’t long before her photo landed on our desk, and Jenni couldn’t leave her behind. A spirit dimmed by fear and uncertainty needed H3 and when the heart speaks, Jenni answers.

Kelsey is the perfect mix of sweet, goofy, and playful. With her adorable personality and those unmistakable mixed-breed ears, she’s a showstopper! She has medium energy but loves to unleash her inner husky with high-energy zoomies. Though she can be reserved and shy when meeting new people Her once-guarded heart now opens to those who show her patience and love. Then once she decides you’re hers, she’s all in, showing off her silly, young, crazy husky side.

This big girl, weighing in at a healthy 70 pounds, has already celebrated two Thanksgiving dinners with us and has a newfound love for food. She's gained healthy weight, a sign of her healing both inside and out. She knows sit and paw, and though she loves to jump up for attention, it’s all part of her.
