Sooo you lost your husky... the husky you have had since he was a baby.
And just learned from the Devore shelter that you didn’t claim him in time and that he had been taken by a rescue to a different state.
FYI, this is actually happening, but this isn’t the dog in question. I don’t want to embarrass anyone just want to raise the awareness of this issue. It is one of the dogs I just pulled from Devore.
Can't imagine being kept by a Husky and not making sure they are chipped so when they loose you they can find you again. Both my babies were chipped as early as possible and we have the vet check for the chip every year when we go in for our annual visit. This is important because those chips can migrate and if they don't scan everywhere on the dog they can miss it so make sure they are chipped, make sure it is working regularly and make sure it is able to be found in your dog.
There have been a lot of huskies in my area lately. Folks have been posting them on the local Facebook page. We almost took one ourselves because he wasn't chipped and no one was responding to the post. But at the last minute the owner was found. People need to at least get them micro chipped. My boys are chipped and have their info on their collar. But they haven't tried to leave us, probably because they are so loved ❤️
